On May 16, 2010, join your family, friends and the whole community for an inspirational walk along the Jones Beach Boardwalk to celebrate women's health and wellness. All proceeds will benefit the new Katz Women's Hospital and Women's Health Institute of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, an incredible initiative that promises to transform women's healthcare forever. Walk for her. Walk for you. Walk for every woman everywhere – because women deserve to feel as amazing as they are.

The February/March 2010 (1st Anniversary!) issue of Long Island Parent has just hit the stands featuring One Is Greater Than None, the Merrick-based teen-founded non-profit on the cover. Liza Burby, Founder of Long Island Parent, has declared a “Reader’s Challenge” asking her readers- and all Long Islanders- to donate funds to One Is Greater Than None and sponsor a RAM/Remote Area Medical weekend where 1000+ Americans will receive FREE medical care. Her goal is to raise at least $3,500. (Just think: If 350 families each donated $10 we’d reach the goal quickly.)
